Accessability for your Fishing Vacation

  • Lake Fishing: Anchorage area lakes are growing in their popularity with anglers living and visiting the area. Head out to any of these inner city lakes and you will find anglers both young and old enjoying the rewards of the states fish enhancement programs. Of the lakes here, Jewel Lake in Southwest Anchorage may just be the most popular. Access is off Dimond Blvd just past Jewel Lake Road. Here you will find a large parking area with toilets and an excellent handicap access area that includes a raised fishing platform. Jewel lake is stocked with rainbow trout and land locked Coho salmon. Delong Lake and Little Campbell Lake are also good prospects.
  • Stream fishing: If it's salmon fishing you seek, mosey on down to Ship Creek in downtown Anchorage for some excelllent king and silver salmon fishing.
  • Fly out fishing trips from Lake Hood seaplane base in Anchorage are a very popular experience. Just a short hop across the inlet and your at the Yentna River, Clear Creek, Susitna or Talachalitna rivers. Both salmon and trout fishing is available from these fly out trips.

Within easy reach of Anchorage you will find many of the Alaska Wilderness Lodge accommodations that make this area so special. Some of those are just minutes away while others will require a bit more travel to reach your destination.
