Anchorage Fishing Tours

We will start by looking at some of the local fishing in the Anchorage area. To do this we will be listing both guided and non-guided fishing trips to cover all areas available to the different levels of angling experience.

Ship creek in downtown Anchorage offers both sport fishing and viewing opportunities for visitors to Anchorage AK. This is a fun activity that costs you nothing. Just take a short stroll from the Anchorage cruise ship pier or hop on the trolley and head on over to the Ulu factory and after visiting their shop walk up along the creek and watch the anglers try their luck for King, Silver and Pink salmon depending upon the time of year. May through July for King Salmon, July through October for Silver Salmon and even years only for Pink Salmon from July through August.

A group of private and public partners has banded together to offer the "Ship Creek Shuttle" which runs from downtown Anchorage to the best fishing areas on Ship Creek and back. The shuttle stops at most of the major downtown Anchorage hotels and a total of 12 locations. The shuttle runs from Memorial Day weekend through the Labor Day weekend.

Some great ideas for outstanding Alaska salmon fishing tours come from the air taxi operators located on Lake Hood near the Anchorage AK Airport. Alaska salmon fishing can be easily enjoyed in an afternoon, or just for an hour or two if that's all the time you have available. Alaska fly in fishing trips can be arranged well in advance or on the day of arrival on a space available basis.
