Take a side trip to Girdwood Alaska and enjoy this wonderful little town with a truely Alaskan spirit. Girdwood is just a short one hour drive from Anchorage along one of the more scenic routes you will encounter during your time here in Alaska. Although this drive is scenic drivers beware, this streach of the Seward also one of Alaska's most deadly.

Girdwood AlaskaHave fun exploring this year-round resort community in the valley of mountains and glaciers. Explore the trails around Girdwood or just take a walk along the nature trails in town. Girdwood is full of fun and unique little shops. This historic gold-mining town is also home to Alyeska Ski Resort and the Alyeska Resort Hotel.

Dining includes three fabulous choices including Jack Sprat, Chair 5 Restaurant in town and the Double Musky Inn on Crow Creek Road. For those looking for more excitment in their dining experience, check out one of the two restaurants open daily during the summer season at the 2,300 foot level reached via the tramway at the Alyeska Hotel. You can have lunch at the Glacier Express, or enjoy the casual fine dining at the Seven Glaciers Restaruant for dinner.
