Kenai River Dipnet Season - July 2010

The much anticipated dip netting along the mouth of the Kenai River is now in full swing. The sockeye, Red Salmon, have been pouring into the river in outstanding numbers making the early birds smile with satisfaction as their coolers fill with the chrome bright bodies of fresh sockeye salmon. As of friday morning, competition on the river was light but all that was changing fast as the motorhome's began streaming into town filling the few camping areas and spilling over into the parking lots of the local Walmart, Lowe's and Home Depot.
